Auckland Primary Principals' Association

Our Association is one of twenty-four clusters that affiliate to the Auckland Primary Principals’ Association (APPA). The APPA was established in approximately 1901 and was initially called the Auckland Headmasters’ Association. The purpose of the Auckland Headmasters’ Association was to act as a conduit between teachers at the coalface and the old Auckland Education Board and also the Department of Education. The name was eventually change to the Auckland Primary Principal’s Association (APPA) but its function has remained the same; i.e. to be the political voice for primary education.
